Local business man, Richard Geleta, has donated a magnificent stain glass window to the staff of Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.

Richard, 37, a manufacturer of stain glass panels worked in a stain glass factory for approximately 15 years before setting up his own business, Geleta Doors, based in Brackla Industrial Estate, Bridgend.

“I wanted to say thank you to all staff in the NHS for the work they do and for risking their lives to get us through this pandemic” said Richard, who was inspired to produce the artwork when walking around the local area and seeing pictures of rainbows on windows.

The stain glass window is a multitude of colour and features a rainbow, the words NHS (in which a superhero reflects the ‘S’), hearts depict love and the sun is a reflection of hope for the future.

Richard’s wife, Helen, is an audiologist in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and this artwork represents the hard work and dedication of all NHS workers.

The stain glass window will be placed in a prominent position in the hospital for staff, patients and visitors to admire.
