Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is celebrating today (Friday 20 September 2019) after winning an Award at the twelfth NHS Wales Awards.
Taking a wound clinic into the community by nurses who provide treatment and advice has been well received by its members.
Since the Baby Teeth DO Matter initiative was launched in April 2017, dentists in Merthyr Tydfil have seen a 39% increase in children’s attendance, in other words approximately 1500 children!
For 13 years, doctors, nurses and midwives from across Cwm Taf have trained volunteer health workers and motorbike ambulance drivers to save lives in a region of eastern Uganda called Mbale through the charity PONT.
The Minister for Children, Older People and Social Care Huw Irranca-Davies rolled up his sleeves and got stuck into the painting at Gurnos Community Centre in October as part of a Welsh Government visit to the early years centre!
