What we do

The Cefn Yr Afon Rehabilitation and Recovery Unit is an 18-bed Mental Health rehabilitation facility. Accommodation includes three separate units, two 7-bed and one 4-bed. Patients are referred from various settings to build on existing skills and to develop new skills. The ethos of the unit is to empower them to take control of their lives with a view to moving on to more independent living with support from the Community Rehabilitation Team if appropriate. Cefn Yr Afon operates with a multi-disciplinary team led by a Consultant Psychiatrist and his medical staff, Nursing & Healthcare Support Workers, Occupational Therapy and Psychology.

Who is it for?

Cefn Yr Afon provides care for adults with a confirmed Mental Health diagnosis some of whom also have a learning and/or physical disability.

Can anyone use this service?

Refferals are required for this service from Registered Clinicians.

What to expect

Patients can expect to be supported by a Multi-Disciplinary Team led by a Consultant doctor including Medics, Nurses, Health Care Support Workers, Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Pharamcy. Patients will carry out activities of daily living on the unit, manage their own budgets and particiapte in a range of recovery-focused activities both on and off the unit.
