Welsh Government scheme puts a smile on Children’s faces

A scheme to improve children’s teeth in Wales has helped to achieve 35,000 fewer fillings, 6,000 fewer extractions and an overall reduction in tooth decay.
Since the Baby Teeth DO Matter initiative was launched in April 2017, dentists in Merthyr Tydfil have seen a 39% increase in children’s attendance, in other words approximately 1500 children!
We would like say a huge thank you to everyone who has gone above and beyond over the past few days during the severe adverse weather.
Vaughan Gething, Cabinet Secretary for Health visited Pontcae Medical Practice, Merthyr Tydfil on October 25th to find out more about our children’s dental health campaign – Baby Teeth DO Matter.
